Matthew Bishop, senior editor of The Economist magazine, is credited with coining the term “philanthrocapitalism” to describe a kind of giving in which donors put time and energy (as well as money) into a project, and use business to do good.  In this segment, Bishop responds to recent criticism of this growing trend and weighs in on the results-only focus of “effective altruism,” finding solutions through “hacker philanthropy,” and the promise of social-impact bonds.
